Kristie Arias

Kristie Arias (born in Lima, 1977) is a textile artist, art director, university professor and cultural manager. Her career is marked by collaborations with artisans across Peru in various projects focusing on hand spinning, product development, and retail.

Kristie holds a master's degree in cultural management, by Universidad de la Rioja, Spain, a bachelor's degree in Art and Design from the Catholic University of Peru, and completed her postgraduate studies at the Byam Shaw School of Art - Central Saint Martins, United Kingdom. She pursued Fashion Management at Mod'Art Peru and specialized in textile design at North Carolina College of Textiles in the United States.

As a social entrepreneur, Kristie has contributed to the fields of Art, Fashion, and Textile Design. She served as the director of Bodega MATE, the local design store of the Mario Testino Museum in Lima. She has been the commercial director of the sustainable Peruvian fashion brand, Escvdo, and during the previous year, she assumed the role of director at the AMANO Pre-Columbian Textile Museum, aligning with her commitment to support Peruvian textile art, culture and design.

Currently, Kristie operates her textile studio, continues her teaching role at UPC University, and participates in various cultural projects.
