Francisca Apparcel
Francisca Apparcel has built a legacy collaborating with artisans to manifest inspiration and enable diverse crafts to reach ethical consumers worldwide. Born in the small countryside city of Osorno, a gateway to Chilean Patagonia, Francisca was exposed to local craft early on and would later focus her Business Administration degree in this space.
After gaining experience working with diverse artisans and craft-people across Latin America, Francisca focused her learnings to co-found the award winning ethical brand Chilote Shoes.
The project in enabling a sustainable and ethical local economy, brought her even closer to the local culture from a social entrepreneurism context. Chilote Shoes today employs dozens of indigenous artisan women across rural areas in southern Chile. The brand supports a continuity of craft and belonging passed on from generation to generation. Each piece is an act of pride and dedication.
"We want to help keep these unique crafts and beautiful cultures alive by making them competitive through social, environmental and economic sustainability.”
